HISTORY

In November 2006, Kempinski unveiled its fifth hotel in Africa in Djibouti – ‘Land of the Gods’. The Djibouti Palace Kempinski is situated on a beach front between the Red Sea and the Indian Ocean, taking advantage of Djibouti’s unique geographical position.

The Striking centerpiece of the project, the Djibouti Palace Kempinski, marks the initial development of Kempinski and Nakheel joint venture in Africa. 

Since its debut, the Djibouti Palace Kempinski has been acclaimed as a place of elegance and ease in a location of breath taking beauty, where you’re every need is attended to from the moment you arrive.

The structure recalls the traditional architecture of the area set within the natural elements of the sea, the beautiful fuchsia bougainvilleas gardens enhanced by 300 palms.

LOCATION

The Djibouti Palace Kempinski is conveniently located at Heron bay, on the far northern peninsula of Djibouti city. It is merely 15-minutes drive from the Djibouti International Airport and is located in the heart of Djibouti's diplomatic and business district.

Apart from it's own variety in restaurants and bars within the Palace, it is also within easy reach of shopping bazaars, traditional street market selling local art and craft.

To avaoid queues at the peak hours, it is recommended to arrange hotel meeting service and limousine pick-up.

7 Stars & Stripes is a highly regarded world recognized hospitality accreditation for hotels who achieved excelence in standards, services and culinary above the 5 Star level.

The award presentation was held in conjunction with the celebration cocktail hostel by the hotel for all valued clients. It is most privileged for the team that the event was graced by the presence of His Excellency, Mr. Mohamed Dileita Mohamed, the Prime Minister of Djibouti and many foreign and local dignitaries of the state.

The peak moment of the evening, the award was presented by the President & CEO of the 7 Stars and Stripes, Mr. Thorsten Buehrmann, to His Excellency, The Prime Minister of Djibouti who then handover the award to the General Manager of Djibouti Palace Kempinski, Mr. Bugra Berberoglu. The Director of Sales & Marketing, Mr. Albert Stienissen gave an impressive foresight into the development plans of the hotel.

The hospitality front of Djibouti is now set at a new level comparable with some of the other most well known and established hotels in the world. As important, Djibouti is the first recipient of the 7 Stars & Stripes award in Africa.
